Farewell to Long-time Members

We said farewell to Harold and Jean Megonigal on April 26, 2015 with a light reception.  They were long-time members of Emmanuel being members  over 65 years and over 75 years respectively.  Friends and family members recounted memories and told how this couple have impacted their lives over the years.  Jean was very active in the Ladies’ Missionary Society, Vacation Bible School, Coffee Break, and helping with hospitality.  Harold has helped out many members behind the scenes giving them rides to the doctor or where needed.  We wish this special couple blessings in their new home.

United States National Day of Prayer

Community Prayer Service

Emmanuel Presbyterian Church will hold a prayer service on Thursday, May 7, 2015 for the National Day of Prayer.  The service will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will be held in the church sanctuary.  Everyone is welcome to come and pray for our country, our leaders, and our communities.

Good Friday Service

On Good Friday, we had a Choral Tenebrae Service at Emmanuel.  A Service of Darkness, adapted from the ancient Tenebrae, a word meaning “shadows”, originated in the early years of the church.  The service, in Scripture readings, choral song, and congregational hymn, depicts the events that led to the crucifixion.
